What happens when those who swore to protect the world through all odds, ends up losing their lives in the struggle?
This is our story;
So few really knew what happened the day the heroes fell. Villains all over joined forces. All of them. They planed to seemingly disappear for a while. Nothing happened. It seemed all was well and the heroes had won. That was their down fall. The villains hit the Fantastic four taking out that group first. Heroes weren't ready. And though they gave it their all in two days the first strike was finished. Captain America died in the ruins of the White house. Xavier tried to regroup all of them. He was killed by an assassin's bullet. Even Magneto and his followers, the least expected, appeared on to the field to fight on the side of the angels. His powers were unable to stop the glass bullet in time to save his old friend. So many were lost in the first days.
Heroes to their biter ends. Winter Solder and Magneto became symbols. And for a time the Winter Solder with Cap's shield in hand and Magneto fought for his lost friends dream. How ironic that his friend's death lead him to see his folly. Though it was not to last. Cortez and a small group betrayed them all leading the enemy to their base. It would have been a slaughter if not for a handful, including Magneto among them. They had laid down there lives so that at least a few could go underground making sure their sacrifices weren't meaningless. That they might strike again. First they must find more heroes. Humans, new mutants, anyone with gifts to fight back the shadows. So many died those years ago. Heroes died. Lives where broken. As was America itself.
Now that the heroes are gone the villains have split up the world. Some places are great almost like they were . Others are so much worse. New York is used as a hunting ground. Anyone with gifts that show that they might be a problem is taken in and offered a chance to join the bad guys or die. Apocalypse runs Egypt with Mr. Sinister, Shadow King, Dark Beast and Sugar man. Dark beast and Mr. Sinister have made a new version of the Infinites and Apocalypse's four horsemen. Kingpin rules New York to Chicago. He keeps the upkeep on most of the towns except for a walled of part of New York known as the hunting grounds. Here Kingpin, Owl, Doc Oc and Green Goblin may have anyone that shows a mutant gene. And when they're bored they hunt and kill them. Inside the hunting grounds one will find what is left of the S.H.E.I.L.D. helicarrier crashed in the streets. And The Reavers and Arcade also use the hunting grounds as their playground. Many mechs and traps await those that live in the town. As if that's not bad enough there are the emplates hunting parts of the world. Dr. Doom runs Washinton D.C. and his old kingdom. Truly one of the better places, except for the fact that one must bow to the rule of Doom.

The world was in shambles, to say the least. It's been nearly 10 years since the fall. The living heroes now work underground in many places using the sewers of the city of Chicago among others as bases. Bringing in mutants to training the kids to use there gifts for something better. Those of age can join a team to cause havoc as the XSE, New Avengers, intale, R&D, etc.to name a few.
